The coaching staff of Venezuela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonathan Venegas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! AC Ony were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sorin Romaşcanu took the corner. The corner ended in Sorin Romaşcanu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. After 18 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, AC Ony's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ciprian Caba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isac Mihalcea during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, AC Ony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isac Mihalcea to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AC Ony was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Dei didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Donald Tusk came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Erik Hermansson in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of AC Ony booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 90 minutes into the match, Ciprian Caba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciprian Caba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 94 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ciprian Caba came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
