The referee ignored Scorpions -MM-'s protests and gave Cornel Giuverdea a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Scorpions -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Giuverdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
