Jérémy Delépine's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jérémy Delépine helped the player get up and apologised. Jérémy Delépine kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Labbeville defense, Axel Tasis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lamine Araujo. The Labbeville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lamine Araujo should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lamine Araujo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Gustave Parisse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Labbeville getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Olivier Clemenceau hit a great ball. Labbeville's Lamine Araujo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Gustave Parisse tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Labbeville booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurice Nay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Axel Tasis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When Abel Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Abel Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Aaron Alcocer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lamine Araujo. The goal made the score 1-4. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Labbeville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olivier Clemenceau didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Gustave Parisse came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Labbeville's Maurice Nay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 68th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jérémy Delépine in the 71st minute of play. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute, Maurice Nay made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Labbeville's Lamine Araujo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Labbeville from getting a goal against them. Lamine Araujo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 91st minute of play. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Eliseo Noboa had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Dilan Liègeois hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 95th minute of play forced Labbeville's goalkeeper Lamine Araujo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Costa Rica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Costa Rica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
