Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Blue Mountain Goats's Evert Holm started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erik Ekeroth kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Axel Tasis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bo Rosen. Blue Mountain Goats's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Börge Karlsson in the 5th minute of the match. After 6 played minutes Blue Mountain Goats got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Andersson. 7 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 13 minutes into the game, Evert Holm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blue Mountain Goats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Blue Mountain Goats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Börge Karlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th match minute, Blue Mountain Goats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Ekeroth to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Blue Mountain Goats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börge Karlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. When Evert Holm came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Blue Mountain Goats fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evert Holm couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Bo Rosen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Evert Holm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evert Holm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evert Holm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Börge Karlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bo Rosen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harald Gunnarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evert Holm's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Harald Gunnarsson hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 68th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evert Holm in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karl-Åke Lundblad scored 3-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evert Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 79 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Evert Holm who took care of the corner kick. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bo Rosen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the match, Börge Karlsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Börge Karlsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.
