Juvenal Corrêa scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Saraiva in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Juvenal Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 22 minutes in the game, Moises Tafalla fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Róbson Arósio having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Saraiva in the 29th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Gugu de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Wesley Soeiro made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 44 minutes into the game, Juarês Toledo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Luca Espinar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Róbson Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 47th match minute, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton Leite to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Arósio having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Arósio having to interfere. After having played for 59 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbson Arósio came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Gugu de Toledo got a free kick in the 68th minute. José Maria Carioca hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Juarês Toledo got a throw-in 78 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Juvenal Corrêa. After 82 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Róbson Arósio was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Saraiva in the 88th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Cabal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Honduras manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ to win.
