The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivar Aleberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Per-Oskar Wiberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ivar Aleberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Nordlander, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Ivar Aleberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivar Aleberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivar Aleberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rdth minute of the game Ivar Aleberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Abel Carballo's late challenge caught a Wrexham A.F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. After 47 played minutes Wrexham A.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Bo Vinström. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Per-Oskar Wiberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. In the 61st minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 69th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 82nd match minute, Wrexham A.F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Nordlander to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costa Rica succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Wrexham A.F.C. had controlled the match.
