In the 13th minute of the match, Sálvio Ribeiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when ADCR Loreto United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Fonte didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led ADCR Loreto United FC's Cesário Abrantes to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sálvio Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 47th minute of the match Cesário Abrantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sálvio Ribeiro made a kick off. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Vladimiro Matai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ADCR Loreto United FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cesário Abrantes took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Cesário Abrantes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimiro Matai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sálvio Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sálvio Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Rubim Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by ADCR Loreto United FC's Cesário Abrantes. But to his dismay, Cesário Abrantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 75th minute Sálvio Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sálvio Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 87th minute Cesário Abrantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sálvio Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
