Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Chile's Mariano Lacasa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Genk's goalkeeper Lenny Vorster, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Suat Kaya scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 1-0. In the 13th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenny Vorster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Suat Kaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genk's Suat Kaya got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Suat Kaya. 23 minutes into the game, Felix Garrido threw the ball into play from the sideline. Genk's Aron Trif quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Suat Kaya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Suat Kaya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Orlando Casaus notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Genk's Lenny Vorster. Lenny Vorster was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lenny Vorster came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Orlando Casaus. But to his dismay, Orlando Casaus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lenny Vorster having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 39th minute of play forced Genk's goalkeeper Lenny Vorster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenny Vorster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Thiago Pliego managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Genk's Suat Kaya fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Felix Garrido made in the 50th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Genk's Aron Trif. Suat Kaya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lenny Vorster could save by the left post. Suat Kaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 66 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lenny Vorster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfons Rijniers in the 70th minute of play. Genk's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thomas-Jan Van de Weijer in the 71st minute. Genk's Thomas-Jan Van de Weijer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Aron Trif hit a great ball. Felix Garrido charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Garrido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Chile's Felix Garrido got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some careless play in the Genk defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lenny Vorster. The Genk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lenny Vorster should have stopped the shot. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vergil Rupov, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suat Kaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Genk's Lenny Vorster got control of the ball when Orlando Casaus tried to sneak it across the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Genk's Suat Kaya sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
