With a left leg Edmond Verdun saved Errecaborda AFC from getting behind. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Errecaborda AFC's goalkeeper Edmond Verdun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Sandalio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Sandalio in the 13th minute of play. Mauro Rameriz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Gines in the 17th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Errecaborda AFC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Valko De Hond hit a great ball. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 23 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edmond Verdun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Guillermo Fontirroig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmond Verdun having to make a save. Prospero Jerardo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Errecaborda AFC. Pastor Ados short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Thiago Pliego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmond Verdun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Gines came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Chile were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Chile defense, Isidro Gines kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute Orlando Casaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmond Verdun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edmond Verdun quite easily take care of the ball. In the 61st minute Pastor Ado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute Victorino Sandalio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Errecaborda AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. The corner led Chile's Mariano Lacasa to fire away a dangerous shot which Edmond Verdun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Jerardo in the 91st minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
