The referee ignored Lakers FC's protests and gave Álvaro Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Álvaro Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 17 minutes, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sidnei Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Jaime Pardo in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulão Corrêa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidnei Branco made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Lakers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Paulão Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulão Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Percival Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romeu Barbosa got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 57th match minute, Lakers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Paraguay fully deserved thier win.
