The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iwan Zjawin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iwan Zjawin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iwan Zjawin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sköll F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iwan Zjawin quite easily take care of the ball. After 30 minutes Sköll F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iwan Zjawin quite easily take care of the ball. Sköll F.C.'s Iwan Zjawin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of play forced Sköll F.C.'s goalkeeper Iwan Zjawin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Anders Ahlqvist got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 1-1. Dominic Van de Loock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Dominic Van de Loock in the 48thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Sköll F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dino Rea in the 50th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Anders Ahlqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Noel Van Deyck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 90th minute Anders Ahlqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Zjawin having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anders Ahlqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Iwan Zjawin however easily saved by the left post. If Noel Van Deyck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sköll F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
