Edmond Verdun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Edmond Verdun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidro Gines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 played minutes Errecaborda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Savion. Errecaborda AFC's Manuel Theobald suffered a concussion in the 29th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montenegro during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Sandalio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute of the match, Mauro Rameriz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edmond Verdun quite easily take care of the ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Isidro Gines took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Sandalio in the 48th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Sandalio in the 52nd minute of the match. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isidro Gines went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edmond Verdun could save by the left post. In the 66th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 73rd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. In the 76th minute Isidro Gines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Honorato Diaz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Errecaborda AFC's Edmond Verdun got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Errecaborda AFC made a substitution. Hipolito Neron replaced Miguel Savion. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edmond Verdun could save by the left post. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Errecaborda AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Agustín Saelices fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edmond Verdun quite easily take care of the ball. After 94 played minutes Errecaborda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Neron. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Errecaborda AFC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
