With an all-out effort, Lamento Boliviano's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jos Musseeuw, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 8th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant had great luck who in the 16thth minute grab hold of the ball when Jos Musseeuw from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 16th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Lamento Boliviano's Algimantas Tarasevičius slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute Jos Musseeuw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Musseeuw, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Jos Musseeuw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lamento Boliviano the free kick. In the 57th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lamento Boliviano's Jos Musseeuw got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jos Musseeuw in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Lamento Boliviano booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Zsolt Molnár came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Algimantas Tarasevičius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70thth minute of the game Jos Musseeuw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lamento Boliviano's Christovao Abastas was substituted for Zsolt Molnár. The corner led Lamento Boliviano's Algimantas Tarasevičius to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Jos Musseeuw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Jos Musseeuw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jos Musseeuw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Manu Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lamento Boliviano's supporters rose to their feet, but Manu Abajas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christovao Abastas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christovao Abastas in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
