Soflov FC's Patricio Salamon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of play. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Patricio Salamon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Patricio Salamon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 13th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patricio Salamon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Feliks Nieruchliwy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Salamon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Salamon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soflov FC's goalkeeper Patricio Salamon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Soflov FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Leheren didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Feliks Nieruchliwy made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Soflov FC's goalkeeper Patricio Salamon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After 53 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patricio Salamon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patricio Salamon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 58th minute. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Soflov FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. If Feliks Nieruchliwy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita has a good long shot, which he once again showed in the 67th minute of the match. Unfortunately the ball hit the outside of the left post. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Patricio Salamon made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Patricio Salamon in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Patricio Salamon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Salamon having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Soflov FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliks Nieruchliwy to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Gisbert made in the 95th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Soflov FC's Percy Romero. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Soflov FC throughout the match.
