After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Gaston Zárate kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Zacisze Częstochowa booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jurand Cempa got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristo Verdu scored 4-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 44 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Zárate, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match.
