After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Armin Nestares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Valdemar Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Libra's Valdemar Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 12th minute of play. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigge Fürst in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Armin Nestares sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Olsson having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Macos Graciani to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigge Fürst in the 31st minute of play. Valdemar Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armin Nestares got free with Dante Lacasa in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Olsson. Valdemar Olsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Olsson having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Libra got a freekick which was hit by Tony Adams. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Valdemar Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 85th minute of play. With a little luck, Libra's Valdemar Olsson got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Macos Graciani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
