The supporters of Mexico booed when SOFiNiN KEDiSi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barbaros Sıratullah didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haydar Dizdar in the 26th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SOFiNiN KEDiSi's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolae Tilihoi came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aygün Mutluer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Paulo Jorrin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, SOFiNiN KEDiSi's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Nicolae Tilihoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 37 minutes SOFiNiN KEDiSi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Nicolae Tilihoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that SOFiNiN KEDiSi's Nicolae Tilihoi managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 81st minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Haydar Dizdar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
