Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matej Nagy in the 52nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Pennetta in the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florian Tieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florian Tieri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matej Nagy in the 68th minute. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian Tieri having to interfere. Matej Nagy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. 74 minutes into the game, Matej Nagy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aurelio Pennetta took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. With 82 minutes on the clock, Rigoberto Mina commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 81st minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. 92 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo De Laurentiis. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. violeta were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
