E.C 2 Janeiro RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bolivia the free kick. After 3 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Rezende. João Francisco de Mendonça's late challenge caught a Bolivia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Francisco de Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bolivia booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Alfredo Ferrant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Ferrant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduardo Fontirroig hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Mario Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolivia's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Alfonso de la Cruz hit a great ball. Mario Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Bolivia booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alfredo Ferrant blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlinhos da Costa having to make a save. In the 23rd match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Madrid to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Marco Valadares sped through Bolivia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Camilo Freixa. Haroldo Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Camilo Freixa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of E.C 2 Janeiro RS booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Freixa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fellipe Rezende. Thanks to some nice moves Marco Valadares could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Camilo Freixa however easily saved by the left post. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Eduardo Fontirroig sped through E.C 2 Janeiro RS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlinhos da Costa. Mario Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos da Costa having to interfere. Eduardo Fontirroig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Valadares was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Carlinhos da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Fontirroig in the 60th minute of play. Eduardo Fontirroig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlinhos da Costa having to make a save. If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Marco Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Eger. In the 82nd minute, Alfredo Ferrant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Bolivia players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
