Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Mosqueteiros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe de Barros having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Geovânio de Souza made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slawomir Zawadzki in the 33rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Slawomir Zawadzki's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Slawomir Zawadzki in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mosqueteiros FC! In the 53rd minute, the referee gave Venezuela a penalty. Tomas Illescas looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Felipe de Barros. Mosqueteiros FC's Felipe de Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Mosqueteiros FC from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slawomir Zawadzki in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Mosqueteiros FC got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Best Gol ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mosqueteiros FC's Felipe de Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Mosqueteiros FC from getting a goal against them. 70 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Tarcísio Esparteiro came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mosqueteiros FC's Slawomir Zawadzki in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Slawomir Zawadzki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe de Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Venezuela supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Venezuela would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
