With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Hernan Lano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute Jacob May shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Wennerqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, USA's Jacob May nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dan Wennerqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Tartalo in the 35th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrián Espadas to strike the kick off in the second half. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Venceslao, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marco Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Baker might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dan Wennerqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Baker ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Despite being the better team, USA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
