Camilo Freixa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Kusko in the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Mario Fernandino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilio Bikendi. DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mario Fernandino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 20th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig made a precise shot to the right of Emilio Bikendi. DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Emilio Bikendi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Fontirroig's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ismael Tejedor hit a great ball. Mario Fernandino scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emilio Bikendi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mano Dios in the 38th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's Enrique Mitxaut got a free kick in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mano Dios was the one to do the kick off. Enrique Mitxaut's late challenge caught a Bolivia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enrique Mitxaut helped the player get up and apologised. Enrique Mitxaut kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Fontirroig in the 63rd minute of play forced DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's goalkeeper Emilio Bikendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bolivia were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mario Fernandino took the corner. Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emilio Bikendi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Cleto Inko was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. In the 69th match minute, DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleto Inko to maneuver through the defense. Mano Dios hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Bikendi having to interfere. Urbano Kusko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Camilo Freixa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilio Bikendi came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bolivia's Mario Fernandino. But to his dismay, Mario Fernandino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Enrique Mitxaut got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 91st minute, Enrique Mitxaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 93 minutes, Alfonso de la Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso de la Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Bolivia booed when DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Generoso Goren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bolivia's Mario Fernandino couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 95th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA. Bolivia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
