Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Paraguay's Jaime Pardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Angelo Mariotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carter Pallini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the game, Jaime Pardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.S.C. NAPOLI the free kick. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Mariotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Emiliano Pari put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Mariotti in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Alan Campos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Pari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emiliano Pari in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. After a rather tough play, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Dave Savini got a free kick in the 35th minute. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Pari in the 37th minute of play. Carter Pallini took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Pari in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Paraguay's Ivan Prats seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ivan Prats the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Paraguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ivan Prats had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 60th minute Carter Pallini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Angelo Mariotti got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Paraguay's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Carter Pallini 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. After having played for 69 minutes, Emiliano Pari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.S.C. NAPOLI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Pari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Ciccio Moscatelli threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Angelo Mariotti who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Jacobo Nores when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Moscatelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Carter Pallini got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Carter Pallini notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Paraguay's Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Donato De Lorenzi kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Moscatelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The supporters of S.S.C. NAPOLI booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emiliano Pari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. S.S.C. NAPOLI had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
