A collision led to ᑎᗝᖇ丅ᕼᗴᖇᑎ ᒪᎥǤᕼ丅ᔕ getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigge Holmberg in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute Guilherme Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustín Saelices during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 79thth minute of the game Guilherme Basso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Andrade came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Guilherme Basso came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jeronimo Rainerio. The goal made the score 3-1. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ᑎᗝᖇ丅ᕼᗴᖇᑎ ᒪᎥǤᕼ丅ᔕ had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
