Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos-Armando Valderrama in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 20th minute. A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Józef Kalafus hit a great ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Veth Crystals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofil Walczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludomir Radzyminski kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Veth Crystals got a freekick which was hit by Teofil Walczyk. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gwidon Patora to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Carlos-Armando Valderrama's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game.
