Cristos Guijarro's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristos Guijarro helped the player get up and apologised. GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's Yanko Pirov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giro Campomanes got free with Julio Vera in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Yanko Pirov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Yanko Pirov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's Yanko Pirov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. Yanko Pirov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yanko Pirov came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 38th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Pirov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yanko Pirov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Yanko Pirov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yanko Pirov quite easily take care of the ball. Yanko Pirov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 44th minute of play. Gaizka Jaraba charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaizka Jaraba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL got a freekick which was hit by Gaizka Jaraba.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Yanko Pirov was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Yanko Pirov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Antonio Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL the free kick. In the 60th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Giro Campomanes came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giro Campomanes couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yanko Pirov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
