Ernesto Padro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Bacho Team's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ernesto Padro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Ivo de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacho Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 28 played minutes Bacho Team got a freekick which was hit by Leon Garcia. After having played for 31 minutes, Eliseo Mina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Mina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 0-2 became the score in the 33rd minute when Julian Murillo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Silverio Nazario in the 37 minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half.
