After 20 minutes Westra Aros SK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Westra Aros SK's Ivan Västlund managed to reach the ball for a save. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Västlund having to interfere. Ivan Västlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Don Speed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Västlund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of play forced Westra Aros SK's goalkeeper Ivan Västlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Västlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Västlund. Ivan Västlund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Västlund having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Don Nickler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Ivan Västlund made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Ivan Västlund to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Ivan Västlund made a huge save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Uno Bjurström charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uno Bjurström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Westra Aros SK getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Uno Bjurström hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Västlund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play forced Westra Aros SK's goalkeeper Ivan Västlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes Westra Aros SK got a freekick which was hit by Don Speed. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Västlund having to interfere. Ivan Västlund was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Luis Andino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luis Andino really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. The Westra Aros SK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
