Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Frölundaboys the free kick. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Richard Kalfhage succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. In the 47th minute, Lars Bolander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Claes Stenström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Elg in the 58th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claes Stenström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Claes Stenström. That made the score 3-1 in the 70 minute of play. When Frölundaboys's Richard Kalfhage in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Claes Stenström came out and tried to block the shot, but Patricio Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 4-2 in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claes Stenström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Offendahl in the 97th minute of play. Frölundaboys's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
