Christian Felice took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luigi Di Maio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luigi Di Maio in the 15th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luigi Di Maio in the 15th minute of the match. When Luigi Di Maio, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 15 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jonathan Ferrant was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Tomas Illescas scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Felice, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 23 minutes, Augusto Bottone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Bottone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luigi Di Maio in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Antonello Coco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Edmondo Colella got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 1-1.

Atletico Roma's Amerigo Loreto was substituted for Luigi Di Maio. In the 55th minute, Augusto Bottone made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Patricio Costa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christian Felice. That made the score 2-2 in the 60 minute of play. After 71 minutes, Peter Parker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Roma and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atletico Roma made a substitution. Beppe Ricciuti replaced Ettore Della Francesca. In the 70th minute, one of Atletico Roma:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atletico Roma. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amerigo Loreto in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Atletico Roma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 80th minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Venezuela were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Atletico Roma side.
