In the 29th match minute, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Panciu to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Vlad Voican didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Cozorici stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Vlad Voican proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Vlad Voican reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Vlad Voican made a huge save. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
