After 8 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Tudor was left in no man's land by his defense there! 14 minutes into the match, FC ANC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC ANC's Martin Tudor. Martin Tudor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Petricca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play forced FC ANC's goalkeeper Martin Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC ANC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC ANC's Martin Tudor did a great save. If Dino Petricca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Artemio Quiroga in the 29thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The FC ANC fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when FC ANC's Artemio Quiroga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 38 minutes, Artemio Quiroga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ANC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Quiroga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Måns Kjellman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42ndth minute of the game Artemio Quiroga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Måns Kjellman notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Måns Kjellman made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Martin Tudor in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Quiroga in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute Artemio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Måns Kjellman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anıl Akdoruk hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Artemio Quiroga struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC ANC. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Anıl Akdoruk hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Martin Tudor in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after FC ANC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Tudor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Petricca in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88thth minute of the game Måns Kjellman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Martin Tudor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 98 minutes into the game, Norbert Kiss was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ANC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Kiss didn't get a good kick on the ball. 99 minutes into the match, FC ANC's goalkeeper Martin Tudor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
