The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Orvar Glanselius hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 15th minute of play forced Ronnys Lärjungar's goalkeeper Edvin Bruhn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvin Bruhn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the match, Ronnys Lärjungar's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Edvin Bruhn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Bertil Harlén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 29 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edvin Bruhn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When the match had been going on for 37 minutes Cristian Sancho shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Edvin Bruhn when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. In the 39th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin Bruhn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvin Bruhn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvin Bruhn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 46 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Ronnys Lärjungar players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.

Kjell-Arne Skott charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kjell-Arne Skott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Ahlrot came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrik Ahlrot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvin Bruhn. Edvin Bruhn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Ronnys Lärjungar's Kåre Mattsson was substituted for Zebastian Larsfält. 78 minutes into the match, Luis Andino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edvin Bruhn, 0-5. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Ahlrot in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Sten Hård hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ronnys Lärjungar's Kåre Mattsson got a free kick in the 85th minute. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The supporters of Ronnys Lärjungar booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Ronnys Lärjungar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Esbjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. George Esbjörnsson hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
