The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mateo Leguizamo's late challenge caught a YuSuF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. YuSuF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gencalp Erserim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Aydemir Taha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Aydemir Taha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Ricardo Zorita had great luck who in the 17thth minute grab hold of the ball when Gencalp Erserim from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 22 minutes into the match, YuSuF's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Batu Ceylan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batu Ceylan came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Moises Fernandino. But to his dismay, Moises Fernandino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Joshua Curbelo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Jesus Carvallo got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Sezen İlbey sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of El Salvador booed when YuSuF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devlet Bardakçıoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Joshua Curbelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the YuSuF defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Batu Ceylan. The YuSuF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Batu Ceylan should have stopped the shot. YuSuF's Batu Ceylan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save YuSuF from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Aydemir Taha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 76 minutes of play El Salvador's Marco Tamayo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 77 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Marco Tamayo. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo got a free kick in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gencalp Erserim in the 88th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of YuSuF booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. El Salvador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
