The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isac Hojbota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Peru's Julian Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vintilă Bălășescu kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 13 minutes of play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Martin Crușeveanu made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Isac Hojbota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Isac Hojbota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, FC Politehnica Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Isac Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Isac Hojbota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Maghiar in the 27th minute of play. Isac Hojbota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute of the game Vintilă Bălășescu made a throw-in which Olimpiu Rizea played forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernest Manea got free with Rolando Noboa in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, FC Politehnica Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Isac Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Peru's Eliseo Mina getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernest Manea was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Isac Hojbota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Håvard Bjørke in the 60 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Peru's Julian Murillo got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Olimpiu Rizea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Manea in the 66th minute of the match. Isac Hojbota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Politehnica Timisoara made a substitution. Yosua Helguera replaced Håvard Bjørke. Alin Moșanu got a throw-in 81 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Yosua Helguera. Isac Hojbota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. 87 minutes into the game, Yosua Helguera threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Politehnica Timisoara's goalie and right to Alonso Berganza. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Politehnica Timisoara's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Rizea in the 95th minute of play. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isac Hojbota read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
