Leonards Štucers went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Melandru de Cenero's Nunez Urtzi to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After taking down the ball on Melandru de Cenero's corner Leonards Štucers fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. Melandru de Cenero's Andrea Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. Cristian Sancho scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrea Perez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 21 played minutes Melandru de Cenero got a freekick which was hit by Alain Palencia. Andrea Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 23rd minute of the match. Andrea Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xurdin Pena. Luis Andino scored 0-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrea Perez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 48th minute of play forced Melandru de Cenero's goalkeeper Andrea Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
