Malte Örtendahl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Severino Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Estação F.C's Malte Örtendahl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute Estação F.C were awarded a corner. Falcão Albuquerque went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Falcão Albuquerque almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. A collision led to Estação F.C getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nicanor Gorosti hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severino Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Malte Örtendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play forced Estação F.C's goalkeeper Severino Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulisses Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Nicanor Gorosti charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicanor Gorosti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Severino Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Severino Vergílio was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Figueiredo in the 61st minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malte Örtendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Estação F.C's goalkeeper Severino Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 78 minutes into the match, Estação F.C's Malte Örtendahl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Estação F.C's Eliseu Cabral was substituted for Belmiro Figueiredo. Estação F.C made a substitution. Miguel Silva replaced Nicanor Gorosti. Estação F.C's Valdomiro Couto was substituted for Mauro Carneiro. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Severino Vergílio. The goal made the score 0-3. Estação F.C's Severino Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play. Ecuador played a much better game than Estação F.C and deserved their victory. The Estação F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
