An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play forced MILAN's goalkeeper Szymon Erland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Szymon Erland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Witalis Kornaszewski came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szymon Erland having to interfere. Szymon Erland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After 25 minutes MILAN's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 32 minutes into the match, MILAN's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Szymon Erland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Szymon Erland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Witalis Kornaszewski in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Szymon Erland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Witalis Kornaszewski kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Szymon Erland firmly grabbed it by the left post. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Szymon Erland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Astozas in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Szymon Erland in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by MILAN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Szymon Erland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Szymon Erland made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by MILAN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Szymon Erland despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
