But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desfachatados F.C.'s Esteve Pello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esteve Pello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Esteve Pello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Esteve Pello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esteve Pello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Esteve Pello having to make a save. After having played for 48 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esteve Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Desfachatados F.C.'s Eduardo Xabel got a free kick in the 61st minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Esteve Pello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Desfachatados F.C. made a substitution. Javier Piearres replaced Melquiades Ritchie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 69th minute of play forced Desfachatados F.C.'s goalkeeper Esteve Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Esteve Pello made a huge save. With his leg Esteve Pello managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Esteve Pello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desfachatados F.C.'s Esteve Pello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Desfachatados F.C. from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Esteve Pello made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Esteve Pello. Desfachatados F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
