With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wang Fei Xing in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. In the 16th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Grøneng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Erik Grøneng. Erik Grøneng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 26th minute of play. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yngvar Roth, made in the 32nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Erik Grøneng. In the 44th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Grøneng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Yngvar Roth's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yngvar Roth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Yngvar Roth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kjønstad BF throughout the match.
