When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The La Società Sport Osasco fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when La Società Sport Osasco's Gilvan Maranhense looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gilvan Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Gilvan Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Società Sport Osasco. When the final whistle went the supporters of La Società Sport Osasco were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
