Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nicolas Roland got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elpidio Vitin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 11th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Vélez Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 17th minute of play. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vélez Juniors defense, Milagros Fraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elpidio Vitin. The Vélez Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elpidio Vitin should have stopped the shot. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efraim Gilabert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Elpidio Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 34th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Luzaide, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Santos Fonda hit a great ball. After 48 minutes Vélez Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Peru's Julian Murillo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elpidio Vitin. Elpidio Vitin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Thanks to some nice moves Luz Tejedor could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Elpidio Vitin however easily saved by the left post. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Guido Luzaide kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. After 75 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Roland in the 76th minute of play. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 80th minute of play. Elpidio Vitin was a little too slow when Luz Tejedor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 2-5. In the 85thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Cristian Naike had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Naike was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vélez Juniors throughout the match.
