When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Richard Edström sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 31 minutes into the game, Casper Biörk threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jose Correa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 36 minutes of play, Manchester City's Richard Edström made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Edström in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With 47 minutes on the clock, Rigoberto Mina commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patricio Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Manchester City getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Paredes Goiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Richard Edström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Tingelholm in the 89th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
