The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.D NARCEA the free kick. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frisco Pascua in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germán Figueres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Eugeniusz Milko took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. 24 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Germán Figueres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Venezuela booed when S.D NARCEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roldán Quijana didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Eugeniusz Milko tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frisco Pascua in the 94th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.D NARCEA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
