Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 10 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Paredes Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Edström in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The corner led Manchester City's Malte Göransson to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 25th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Manchester City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paredes Goiano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Paredes Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Manchester City's Paredes Goiano managed to reach the ball for a save. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paredes Goiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Manchester City's Paredes Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 39th minute of play. Paredes Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Manchester City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Paredes Goiano was a little too slow when Luis Andino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-2. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Edström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Ulf Tingelholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paredes Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. After some careless play in the Manchester City defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paredes Goiano. The Manchester City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paredes Goiano should have stopped the shot. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute. Paredes Goiano made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Manchester City's Paredes Goiano got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paredes Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 88th minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Manchester City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Cristian Sancho advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-4 in the 91st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paredes Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Manchester City.
