In the 3rd minute, Reinard Hennes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinard Hennes, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Reinard Hennes might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinard Hennes ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinard Hennes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Twelve Ravens's Reinard Hennes in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Twelve Ravens fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The supporters of Twelve Ravens booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinard Hennes in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. When Twelve Ravens's Reinard Hennes in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinard Hennes in the 42nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Twelve Ravens were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute Reinard Hennes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Reinard Hennes put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. In the 63rd match minute, Twelve Ravens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinard Hennes to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Philip Blocks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Twelve Ravens made a substitution. Bjorn Van de Weijer replaced Reinard Hennes. After a rather tough play, Twelve Ravens's Philip Blocks got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Pierre Van Hinnendael tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Bjorn Van de Weijer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Bjorn Van de Weijer tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Pierre Van Hinnendael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Pierre Van Hinnendael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bjorn Van de Weijer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Efrain Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. In the 84th minute, Bjorn Van de Weijer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bjorn Van de Weijer went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Twelve Ravens's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
