Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 2 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agnaldo Ramalho. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klemen Mikuž having to interfere. In the 7th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 11th minute, Ernes Flakus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute Ludvik Anclin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Ramalho in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, Milky Way's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Klemen Mikuž reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Klemen Mikuž tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho challenged an opponent after 31 minutes. The hit was so bad that he suffered a foot injury. Sergej Kous charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergej Kous the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Milky Way got a freekick which was hit by Sergej Kous. Klemen Mikuž made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. Milky Way's Klemen Mikuž played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Mancebo in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernes Flakus in the 37th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klemen Mikuž made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Mancebo in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Diego Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klemen Mikuž breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agnaldo Ramalho made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Agnaldo Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Diego Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Klemen Mikuž made a huge save. In the 76th minute, Zija Pleteršek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Milky Way's Ronald Verbič was substituted for Agnaldo Ramalho. After a rather tough play, Milky Way's Zija Pleteršek got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute Diego Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klemen Mikuž saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Milky Way was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernes Flakus didn't get a good kick on the ball.
