Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Richard Edström took the kick off in the first half of the match. Paredes Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 10th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montenegro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paredes Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Tingelholm in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Tingelholm in the 14th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Tingelholm came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paredes Goiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 35 minutes into the game, Manchester City's Richard Edström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 38th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Söderström to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paredes Goiano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. After 39 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. 42 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Paredes Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Richard Edström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Tingelholm in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Malte Göransson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Malte Göransson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paredes Goiano. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Tingelholm in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Paredes Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulf Tingelholm in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paredes Goiano. That made the score 3-3 in the 70 minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Tingelholm in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Ulf Tingelholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Paredes Goiano however easily saved by the left post. If Alf Möllgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paredes Goiano came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. In the 90th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Göransson to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paredes Goiano. Manchester City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malte Göransson during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paredes Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Manchester City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
