The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. After 79 minutes, Julian Murillo made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético da Colina's Hílton Dias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Hílton Dias successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Souza in the 97th minute of play. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
