One of Colombia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sportivo Luan Toro:s goal. 6 minutes into the game, Sportivo Luan Toro's Olli Fiedler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Axel Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Robert Davison to make any attempt to save it. Kevin Mastache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Tabor to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Indiano. Sergius Ramus hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Robert Davison made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Santino Seco hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olli Fiedler in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olli Fiedler to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Justino Roland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olli Fiedler in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olli Fiedler in the 56th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justino Roland's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Pedro Manzanares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mauricio Lore kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Tabor to maneuver through the defense. Sportivo Luan Toro's Ricardo Mendez was substituted for Alberto Fidencio. In the 77th minute, Martins Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportivo Luan Toro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Martins Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Martins Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Colombia booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Eufrasio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jo Barone got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ricardo Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Jo Barone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot.
